CAF Best goalkeeper of the year 2022 and current African Cup of Nations Champion goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy has reportedly resumed light training with Chelsea ahead of the next couple of games and the showstopper aims to return from an injury which has sidelined him since the beginning of the year.
The 31 year old picked up an injury in training with the blues ahead of their FA Cup third round tie with eventual victors Manchester City at the Etihad along side teammates like Raheem Sterling and Christian Pullisic, but it was the goalie's injury that wasn't officially given a return date after fracturing his finger.
Its not been new information that the blues have since managed just four clean sheets in fourteen games since then with Kepa Arrizabalaga in charge while the Senegalese international himself has only managed a single clean sheet this season which is just a compliment of the terrible season the blues are having so far in all departments with his last game coming in the 0-1 defeat to Newcastle United in St.James Park in the Premier League.
However, according to multiple reports the UEFA Best Goalkeeper for the year 2021 was spotted as returned to official training at the Cobham Training Facility along side his Chelsea teammates.
His return also comes a day before he officially turned 31 which is today, with the player attracting healthy celebrations and Goodwill messages from club and national team mates as well as officials nationwide including his fans who hope to see him action once again.
