LOW EXPECTATIONS AS CHELSEA PLAY DORTMUND IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TONIGHT

2021 Champions League winners Chelsea travel to Germany to play Broussia Dortmund in their Round Of 16 First leg encounter tonight by 21:00GMT at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

However, thoughts are circulating of the inability manager Graham Potter's men to at least see off a good performance in the tie, before returning to Stamford bridge for the return leg next week given the terrible form they find their selves in.

The blues have managed just one win in their last eight games which came over Crystal Palace and despite already changing managers this season still seat tenth in the Premier League table more than 10 points of the top four.

However, although they can boast of their authority in the transfer window, Chelsea would need to transfer that authority into similar fashion on the pitch as they face an immediate need to turn results around. The game against Dortmund will present a challenge moreover going away from home against a team with just one loss in their last five meetings boosted with the return of Sebastian Haller from Testicular cancer and Chelsea interest Jude Bellingham in the summer.

Low expectations are expected in the game but fans will look forward to the players getting to know each other better match by match and the game provides an opportunity for new signings like Mukhaiylo Mudryk, Enzo Fernández, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke to get to know themselves as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is denied a return to his former club after being dropped in Chelsea's final 30 Man UCL final UCL squad along side players like Bernoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana.
