TORNADOES BEAT SPORTING TO SECURE BACK-TO-BACK WINS.

In an intense showdown at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, Tornadoes clinched a hard-fought victory against Sporting Lagos, thanks to Akintunde Azeez's crucial goal. Azeez capitalized on a rebound following Clinton Jephta's missed penalty, securing a slim win for Tornadoes in their Matchday 25 clash.

Taking control of possession in the first half, Tornadoes took the lead after Jephta was fouled inside the box, earning his team a penalty. Although Jephta failed to convert, Azeez swiftly capitalized on the opportunity, slotting the ball into the net in the 9th minute.

Throughout the first half, The Ikon Allah boys dominated proceedings and entered halftime with a well-deserved lead.

The second half saw both teams adopting a cautious approach, but Sporting Lagos gradually gained momentum. Despite the efforts of forward Junior Lokosa, who posed a threat, Tornadoes' solid defense, led by Mohammed Hussaini and Silvester Bell, held firm to secure the win.

With this victory, Tornadoes climbed to 14th place on the league table, amassing 30 points.

Despite not finding the net in this game, Ikechukwu Nwani, the striker who scored the winning goal in Tornadoes' last, first and only away victory, showcased his impressive skills and determination on the field.

His influence upfront, coupled with his ability to create scoring opportunities, will be instrumental in the team's upcoming away fixture against Enyimba Int'l. With the ex Akwa United and Sunshine Stars attacker leading the line, Tornadoes will look to maintain their winning momentum and secure another crucial victory on the road."

Their Next Fixture will be: Enyimba Int'l vs. Niger Tornadoes which will be Behind Closed Doors on Sunday, 17th March 2024
