CHINEDU OZOR AIDS HEARTLAND TO FIRST LEAGUE WIN UNDER CHRISTIAN OBI

Heartland FC beat Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Premier Football League thanks to a 20th minute goal from Onyekachi Okafor and a 25th minute goal Ikechukwu Mgbemena as well to double their lead from Austin Osayande's corner kick.

It was the first win for the Naze Millionaires under Christian Obi this season after 18 League games in charge both befire and after his sack.

Defender Ozor Chinedu who was signed Katsina United expressed his delight on the win and further stated the significance of the result:

Its a huge win for us and especially for the boys because all of them have been working so hard irrespective of the results and we have been trusting that soon our efforts would yield fruits and we have finally broken the bad run of form and now we believe we can keep doing it because it feels good. — Ozor said speaking to NPFL TransferMarket after the game.

Austin Osayande who also joined the team this season on loan from Enugu Rangers spoke in high regards of the win:

"The team spirit is there, at all times I'm proud of my teammates because they kept on trying to achieve our goals and today we showed the class we are made of. Now all we have to do is keep trying to get those kind of results to make our fans and everyone at the club happy" — Austin Osayande.

Heartland leapfrog Gombe United now into 19th position but are still in the relegation zone with 23 points from 25 games and will next travel away for their game against Rivers United.
