NPFL MATCHWEEK THREE SELECT SUPERSTAR WATCH

Orange Football Magazine and NPFL TransferMarket monitored a number of Nigerian Premier Football League players in Match week three nationwide and gathered data from their performances that should help their followers know more with in dept analysis and statistics.

OZOR CHINEDU: Ex Sunshine Stars defender Chinedu Ozor started his third staright Nigerian Premier Football League game and denied Lobi Stars a single goal as he marshalled the defence of the chanji boys earning just his second clean sheet of the season in their 0-0 draw at the Mohammadu Dikko Stadium.

It can be recalled that Chinedu was heavily linked with the same Lobi Stars in 2022 and almost joined the Markudi outfit until a breakdown in agreement of terms. His performance on the weekend was enough to prove he was qualifty enough pulling three clearances, five duels won and three succesful blocks - a main reason the new signing from Yobe Desert Stars keeps starting games for Katsina United.

SADEEQ YUSUF: Kwara United forward Sadeeq Yusuf earned a mark of brilliance and applause following positive performances in his sides 0-0 draw against Rivers United away from home.

Although nothing too offensive - he was part of the team that denied the pride of Rivers three points as he contributed to winning fouls and clearnces inside his own half, Kwara United putting up a brilliant game against a more favored Rivers United in Port Harcourt.

ADEWALE ADEYINKA: For the second Nigerian Premier Football League consecutive game Adewale Adeyink made the bench for the hgarmony boys in their goaless draw at Rivers United as well.

The record clean sheet holder is expected to make his return in the coming games ahead of Suleiman in goal.

AUSTIN OSAYANDE: Three consecutive starts for Heartland since joining on loan. Austin Osayande has more than impressed behind the scenes to earn a starting shirt for the Nazi Billionaires.

Just like a host of most teams that earned a point away from home - Austin Osayande assisted Heartland in escaping Akure with a point in their game 1-1 draw with Sunshine Stars.

IKECHUKWU NWANI: Birthday boy and former winning ex Akwa United striker started another straght game for the Akure Gunners as they were held 1-1 by a tough Heartland at the Akure Township Stadium.

Nwani won the first penalty that was scored by teammate Micheal Olsasusi in the 39th minute of the game, futher proving that he can contribute more in the coming games.

WISDOM NDON: Despite a spirited showing, Wisdom Ndon and Akwa United once again conceded multiple goals away from home in their 3-2 loss against Enyimba in Aba.

The Orange Football Magazine 2023 rookie defender of the year however will look to gain another home clean sheet as the Promise Keepers take on Shooting Stars in EKet this weekend.

UCHE COLLINS: Uchenna Collins did not start nor play this weekend - the 23 year old however made the bench and will hope to be unleashed this week at home to help the team to their first three points.

He finished as top scorer in the league last season for the club and will be looking to get a higher tally this season with more games than last season which was an abridged version.

DAVID ONOVO: For the second consecutive game away from home Plateau United coach Magnus Magnut started new signing David Onovo - this time against high flying Nigerian FA Cup defending champions Bendel Insurance but all of Onovo's hardwork could not be proccesed into a positive result with Bendel Insurance leaving the Samuel Ogbemudia with all three points in a 1-0 win.

Interestingly, Plateau United's next Nigerian Premier Football League game will be against Sunshine Stars, the former side of the winger and he will look to put up his best performance at home.

SAMSON OLSAUPO: The tall Katsina United striker had an impressive game against Lobi Stars at the Mohammadu Dikko stadium despite being denied goals by the travelling side.

Recording four shots and 14 passes, the 0-0 draw took Katsina United to 11th on the Nigerian Premier Football League table with a game to look forwad to against Heartland away.

CHIGOZOE CHILEKWU: Chigozie Chilekwu started and finished Enyimba's Nigerian Premier Football League 3-2 win against his former side Akwa United in the weekend.

The defender was very vital in preventing more goals from coming in - pulling 4 blocked shots and 5 clearances in their first home win of the season.
