After signing for nine time Nigerian Champions Enyimba International from Sunshine Stars in September 2022 experienced defender Chigozie Chilekwu has yet to make a single appearance in the Nigerian Premier Football League for the people's elephants but insists that he trusts his manager and will wait until he's been needed to give his absolute best.
The left back was the most versatile player in the Nigerian top flight last season for Sunshine Stars featuring in all but three positions for the Akure outfit which were the goalkeeping, striker and defensive midfield position which we performed brilliantly under the management of both Ayodeji Ayeni and Emmanuel Deutsch.
However since completing a dream move to giants Enyimba International, the former Akwa United star has found it a bit hard breaking into the starting eleven of national hero and Enyimba gaffer Finidi George but the experienced defender seems supportive of all of his managers decisions this season stating he's more than happy working under such an inspiring figure:
"Of course every player wants to play. I don't think any player is happy staying on the bench but you see in the short I've been at Enyimba I've learnt why this is the best club in the land." Chilekwu confirmed to 02Sport Football on Tuesday evening.

Moses Effiong convinced Akwa United are title challengers after Enyimba win.
"I was happy coming here and I still am. Working with Coach Finidi is unbelievable. I grew up as every Nigerian simply hearing and watching his remarkable service to the country and its such an honor learning so many things from him"
"I've had a little injury this season but I returned a while ago. Yes it's been difficult getting playing time but I won't give up. There are so many super players here. I trust my manager, my time will come to play"
Chilekwu, who did not make the matchday squad as the team traveled to Uyo in their 1-0 loss will hope to be called upon by the manager during this weekend's showdown with PlateauUnited on Saturday as he patiently waits to add to his eight goals and assits he wracked up last season with the Owena waves
