2022 Akwa Ibom state FA Cup champions Akwa United defeated FC One Rocket by 4-1 at the Nest Of Champions on Monday to claim their fourteenth title in the state. The team followed up with a resounding 2-0 win over Ibadan Outfit Shooting Stars, which culminated to just one loss in ten games for the Promise Keepers signaling the brilliant form the team are currently undergoing.
However, FA Cup semi final penalty hero Moses Effiong believes winning their first silverware of the season in the state will encourage the 2021 NPFL champions to go for more achievements in the season which includes higher league finishes to take them to CAF Continental games and possibly a third FA Cup final.
"I think winning the FA Cup is a nice feeling, I think winning any trophy feels good to any player and honestly it has only gone to prove to us that we can achieve more together and united"

The former Dakkada striker is in line for a start in Akwa United's trip to Edo to take on Bendel Insurance in their eleventh Nigerian Premier Football League in a clash which is set to be a revenge mission of the first leg as first takes on second in group A with Akwa United aiming to end Bendel's unbeaten start to the season.
