The Nigerian Premier Football League board need to address this issue better because we Nigerians are not gullible. The board claims Heartland will replace Beyong Limits - meanwhile when you read deeper it is actually Sporting Lagos who should remain in the League.
Read with me:
🚨 | Beyond Limits WON'T play in the NPFL this season.
— POOJA!!! (@PoojaMedia) September 3, 2024
The Academy of Remo Stars gained promotion last season.
They will relinquish the slot to Heartland FC, who has Emmanuel Amunike as their new manager.
Beyond Limits - Champions of the Nigerian national League will not participate in the League as itis against section B11.4 of the Frameworks:
The NPFL have confirmed that Beyond Limits will not participate in the League this season stating that dual ownership is against its frameworks and rules:

B11.4. No 'Person' may either directly or indirectly be involved in or have any power to determine or influence the management or administration of more than one Club.

There is no reference of this rule in applocation to clubs such as Akwa United and Dakkada or Enyimba and Abia Warriors as those clubs are owned by a government which is made up of 'persons' and not a person. Remo Stars and Beyond Limits are owned by Kunle Soname - Hence this applies.
But Then Heartland replaces them:
Section A5.2: The Board may place advertisements to seek participation in the League, when necessary. However, the first right of refusal for participation shall be offered to:
5.2.1. The Clubs relegated from the League in the immediate preceding season in the 'order of their placement in the League table'.
even as i stand corrected - order of their placement in the League table means the team that finishes highest in relegation shall be considered to getting the slot.
Henceforth Sporting Lagos finished in 17th. Doma United in 18th and Heartland in 19th. How does Heartland get the slot!

Further: section A5.2.4 states this:
5.2.4: Without prejudice to Rules 2.4, 5.1 and 5.2 of Section A, any club involved in slot buying shall be disqualified from participating in the NPFL in furtherance of Rule A5.10.
This means if this decision has been influenced via a transaction that Heartland are not to participate as they should be disqualified.

The League should come out with more clarification. We cannot keep running our football like this. Best we can understand is that Heartland bought the slot and the League has allowed the slot buying for one last time.

Sporting Lagos has better facilties and a better finish than Heartland last season so i see no reason where Heartland have met the criteria here.
This is not to shade the League board - we just want more transparency. Thank You.
