OZOR | OLSASUPO FEATURE AS KATSINA FALL TO DEFEAT IN NORTHERN DERBY

Katsina United traded tackles with Kano Pillars in their match week two encounter at the Sani Abacha stadium in what was regarded as the fiercest available derby in Northern Nigeria in the Nigerian Premier Football League.

Coming of the back of a 1-0 opening day win against Kwara United the chanji boys faced Sai Masu Gida with resolute defence lead by Chinedu Ozor and a titanic attack comprising of Samson Olsasupo - both new comers to the Katsina based outfit.

They held their ground with convincing display until the 27th minute when Ibrahim Mustapha scored the only goal of the game. The Kano based side fought harder for more goals especially off the back of a 1-0 loss in Akure to Sunshine Stars on opening day of their Nigerian Premier Football League return but Chinedu Ozor and his defensive line proved to be troublesome with the latter putting up 4 blocks and 12 clearances while winning 75% of areal duels.

Olasupo who already bagged an assist against Kwara United had his brilliant attempts thwarted but recorded. The team will travel back home prepared to face Lobi Stars in match week three despite now sitting thirteenth on the table with 3 points
