OLASUPO MARKS KATSINA UNITED DEBUT WITH AN ASSIST - EFFIONG MISSES OUT WITH HAMSTRING


New Katsina United recruitment and goal poaching phenomenon Samson Olasupo has begun life at Kastina United in remarkable fashion after helping the Chanji boys to a first league win from their opening match of the season at home.

Katsina United kicked off their 2023/2023 Nigerian Premier Football League season with a home test against a tricky Kwara United at the Mohammadu Dikko stadium in a game that saw featured a handful of debutants for the both sides - one of those key names being like Samson Olasupo.

The former Sunshine Stars striker not only earned his first start in the league for his for his new club after a prolific preseason which saw him bag three goals but also opened his goal contribution tally providing the assist in the 74th minute, a powerful low drive past the goal keeper of Kwara United in goal, which was tapped in by Lukman Bello to make it 1-0 Katsina United.

His goals scoring and assisting prowess undoubtedly put to the test throughout the ninety minutes in which he played as expected but it ended up that that one chance he forced open adjusting his body in such short time would be the deciding movement to provide the game's only goal. That 1-0 redukt taking Katsina United to6th on the log in match week one.
