Enyimba International Football Club recently qualified for the main tournament of the Naija Super 8 which takes place in Lagos after a 1-0 win over Heartland in the playoffs held at Eket at the Eket Stadium.
The Champions of Nigeria along with the Nazi Billionaires where the two geo political representatives from the south east based on the most votes as expected and traveled south to the commercial city of Eket in AkwaIbom where their one legged playoff just like the other five fixtures would be held.

Enyimba had only beaten Heartland once in their past ten games and came into the oriental derby prepared which saw them take a first half lead through Murphy Ndukwe with an assist from Superstar defender Chigozie Chilekwu. They held on to the goal till the end of the second 45 minutes as well to go course for a first double since 2005.

However although selflessness will demand each player to deny individual brilliance and credit, Enyimba will also have to give massive credit to a player who played his sixth game of the season but already looks like a regular player. Chigozie Chilekwu's assist means he is the defender with the most goal contributions and clean sheet in lesser number of games. The ex Akwa United and Sunshine Stars player so far has boasted of six games with contributions such as:

Enyimba are yet to loose a game in which Chigozie Chilekwu has played ninety minutes since joining.
"The match against Heartland was never going to be an easy match going by the records" Chilekwu said talking to NPFL Journalist Abraham Joseph on Monday.
"The ultimate goal in every match is to win and you don't win without scoring a goal and you can't score without an assist. So getting an assist is as good as getting a goal, so I want more of that. The feeling is joyous and overwhelming and I'll keep pushing to have more of that"

The people's elephants along with the other teams will know their opponents for the main tournament in Lagos which begins on the 7th of July. The draws will be conducted in Lagos on the 29th of June.
