MOSES EFFIONG ANXIOUS TO RESUME THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON

Akwa United's new summer forward signing Moses Effiong has expressed his insatiable desire to resume action in the orange kit for Akwa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League as soon as possible.

The top flight had gone on a midseason break on February 19th which has immediately been followed by diverse action from the first and second qualifying rounds of the FA Aiteo Cup. Effiong, who has made over seven appearances this season but yet to score has given four preassists in the build up to some goals and has further recorded not less than fifteen shots of target so far.

However, his effects have proven effective as his team worked and cooperation noticed by Coach Ayodeji Ayeni ahead of over four other strikers in the team has led the former champions to a temporary third place position with fifteen points from nine games which would automatically qualify them for the super six and another shot at the title they last won in 2021.

"The season so far has been a little hard for me but I always feel so free putting on the Akwa United shirt and trying to help my teammates and the club so I can't wait for the league to come back"— Effiong stated in an interview with Orange Football Magazine.

Moreover, with Leonard Ugochukwu's exit from the club till the 2023/2024 season with Enugu Rangers already confirmed, the ex Dakkada striker might get more playing time under his belt which would see possibly end his goal drought for the team.

United next are supposed to take on Shooting Stars in the reverse fixture at the Nest Of Champions when the league resumes expectedly on the 26th of March before traveling to Edo to tackle table toppers Bendel Insurance in the a revenge fixture aiming to prevent the Benin Gunners from completing a league double over them.
