RIVERS UNITED UNITED READY TO DEFEND THE NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE - MORICE CHUKWU

Rivers United Sensational midfielder and NPFL TransferMarket midfielder of the year 2022 Morice Chukwu has said that Current NPFL Champions are ready for the new season and will do their best to retain their trophy.

When asked about how he felt about the league returning in an interview with NPFL TransferMarket Correspondent and airing his thoughts about the abridged league, the 20 year old said Chukwu said:

"I thank God that our league is back, we expect a lot of things (improvement) from the league and we believe we will see it and play good football this season, We know the league is going to be difficult for us and for every other team because it's an abridged league."

On the chances of Rivers United winning the league back to back the player responded:

"We are going to do all our best to make sure we defend our own trophy and show Nigerians that we are still the Champions of the NPFL."

Rivers United crowned NPFL Champions 

The league is slated to begin on Sunday 8th January 2023. Rivers United will face Lobi stars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium a week after the opening game between Akwa United and Bendel Insurance in Uyo.
